Holly Jane Valentine (b.1995) is a New York City-based oil painter. She holds a BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her practice is rooted in 19th century Symbolist and Romantic traditions. Drawing from esotericism, dream imagery, and meditative states, her paintings explore themes of transformation, mysticism, and the sublime. Moving between figuration and allegory, her work taps into the hidden recesses of consciousness that she describes as visual poetry. Valentine believes that to see is a sacred act.
